A new report has revealed that WWE made a pitch for Adam Cole to cut his hair during negotiations to bring him to Raw or SmackDown earlier this year.
As per Fightful Select (subscription required), the idea was brought up in early talks, to help Cole establish a new look for his main roster call-up.
Cole reportedly let WWE know that he wasn’t interested in cutting his hair ahead of a potential WWE repackage. The report noted that the pitch wasn’t made to Cole again during proceedings.
It had previously been reported that one main-roster pitch was for Cole to act as Keith Lee’s manager, however Cole recently revealed that this idea wasn’t pitched to him.
The former NXT Champion ultimately debuted for AEW at All Out on September 5. He is currently undefeated in AEW, most recently wrestling alongside The Young Bucks against Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus and Christian Cage at Rampage Grand Slam last week.
On Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, Cole will go one-on-one with Jungle Boy.
