WWE To Make Change To Upcoming Day 1 Event? WWE

WWE is considering a notable change for the upcoming WWE Day 1 premium live event, currently slated for 2023.

The first WWE Day 1 event was held on January 1 this year. Following now-co-CEO indicating that the show would become an annual event, WWE announced that the next Day 1 show will take place on January 1 next year.

It makes sense for WWE Day 1 to air on the first day of the year, for obvious reasons. Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is thinking about moving the show to another date.

Noting that WWE still plans for the show to air from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Meltzer wrote:

“A decision will be made this week regarding the date of the Day 1 PPV show. Right now the show is scheduled for 1/1 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

“There is talk that it could be changed and the announcement would be made next week if that’s the case, although we were told that either way it would remain at the building.”

Meltzer also reported that WWE Day 1 is the next US show which Brock Lesnar is listed for, following his loss to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. Lesnar currently features prominently on advertising for WWE Day 1, and the Royal Rumble event slated for January 28.

The next WWE premium live event will be Extreme Rules, which will take place on October 8. Check out the announced card for the event right here.
