WWE Makes Huge Change To Money In The Bank Stipulation? WWE

WWE appears to have potentially made a huge change to the Money in the Bank stipulation, with the event officially set for July 2.

Traditionally, the winners of the Money in the Bank matches have earned a contract for a championship match that they can cash-in at any time and any place of their choosing for up to a year.

Well, that might be changing going by a commercial that aired during WrestleMania Backlash tonight.

During said commercial, Cody Rhodes emphatically stated: “One lucky male and female Superstar will win the chance to main event WrestleMania”.

There are a number of things that could have happened here, including:

  • The commercial is correct and the stipulation is changing
  • The commercial accidentally used a clip that was created with the intention of promoting the Royal Rumble, not Money in the Bank
  • It was a figure-of-speech of sorts in the sense that you could theoretically cash-in for/during the main event of WrestleMania if you wanted to, or you could cash-in to become champion before WrestleMania so you main event by defending the title you won

Considering the way it was said so emphatically, the third seems unlikely. However, it also seems very  unlikely that WWE would commit to putting someone in the WrestleMania main event nine whole months before WrestleMania actually takes place.

Well, we’ll have to wait and see what happened, but we’ll let you know as soon as any updates or further clarification come to light.
