Rowan and Daniel Bryan are currently locked in a feud with Roman Reigns on Smackdown Live. It has been reported that the duo will be eventually revealed as Roman Reigns’ mystery attackers.
Attentive listeners noticed on Smackdown Live that Daniel Bryan referred to Rowan as ‘Erick Rowan’ for the first time since the duo were paired up at the 2019 Royal Rumble event.
Many people thought this might have been a slip-up, especially with WWE’s YouTube video of the segment being accompanied by the caption “Daniel Bryan and Rowan reveal Roman Reigns’ attacker”.
However, WWE.com now lists Rowan as “Erick Rowan”, this certainly confirms that WWE and Vince McMahon have, for some reason, decided that Rowan should undergo yet another name change.
It has not yet been reported why WWE higher-ups made the decision to have Rowan referred to as his old name.
