Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair has congratulated a rising star following their title win at NXT Battleground 2023.

During the May 28 NXT premium live event, Tiffany Stratton and Lyra Valkyria faced off for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship.

Stratton was ultimately victorious, pinning Valkyria following a moonsault to win the gold.

WWE star Charlotte Flair has now taken to social media to celebrate Stratton’s victory, sharing NXT’s post about the title change with the caption:

Congratulations woman! 👏

Stratton later replied:

Thank you, queen ❤️

Charlotte Flair has held the NXT Women’s Championship on two occasions, with her first reign spanning 258 days in 2014-2015, and Flair winning the gold again in 2020.

Flair hasn’t wrestled since losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39.

Ripley most recently defended the gold at Saturday’s (May 27) Night of Champions premium live event, defeating Natalya in just over a minute.
