WWE Star Says Upcoming Movie Role Will ‘Turn Some Heads’ WWE

WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk has shared an insight into his future in movies ahead of the premiere of Night Patrol.

The upcoming vampire movie sees CM Punk cast as a cop with a dark secret, marking the second time he has played a cop in recent projects.

The WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s movie ambitions are yet to be realised, however, as he laid out plans for his future.

When asked on ABC News if we can expect to see more of him on the big screen, and whether acting was always a dream of his, he responded:

“You can for sure expect it (to see more of him on the big screen). I can’t say it was a dream, I’m just a guy that takes every single opportunity that comes my way.

“I never woke up and said ‘I want to be a Disney princess,’ but here I am.”

When it comes to future roles, he hopes to follow in the footsteps of John Cena and Batista, both of whom have gone on to big-screen success, stating:

“I think as wrestlers we get typecast, big, stupid, you know. I think John Cena and especially Dave Bautista have gone a long way to shatter that stereotype.

“I would like to help shatter those stereotypes, I would like to take on more challenges, do different roles.

“I’m currently shooting a rom-com up in Calgary that I think will turn some heads, make people see me in a little bit of a different light.”
