CM Punk Addresses Expectation Of Edgier Content When WWE Raw Moves To Netflix WWE

CM Punk has commented on the possibility of WWE Raw introducing edgier content when the show transitions to Netflix.

According to Punk, if you’re looking for the switch to lead to a new era with “full frontal and swearing”, that will not be happening.

Speaking to KISS FM 103.5 in Chicago, Punk was asked about the upcoming transition in terms of edgy content as Raw moves to Netflix in 2025.

CM Punk said:

“I don’t think you’re gonna see much difference than what it is now. I think we’re pushing boundaries a little bit here and there.

“I just kinda wanna temper people’s expectations because I think there’s a section of the fanbase that’s like, ‘Oh they’re going to Netflix, there’s gonna be full-frontal and swearing’ – that’s absolutely not the case.

“I think we’ve learned from the Attitude Era that you can only do that for so long before you’re trying to outdo yourself every week and then it just becomes bad television. I think every once and again you can push the envelope.

“I think what you’re gonna see in difference of what the product is now is I think we’re gonna maybe… I think there’s still gonna be commercials on Netflix, I’m not 100% sure about that, but we might be able to fudge it so it’s not during matches.

“So you’re gonna see maybe some play with the format of the show. But I’m not 100% sure on all that.

“But content-wise, I don’t think you’re gonna see… as much as Rhea Ripley wants to come out there and talk like an Aussie and drop a c-word here and there, I don’t think you’re gonna see that.”

CM Punk is set to see his feud with Drew McIntyre potentially culminate at WWE Bad Blood where the pair are scheduled to face off in Hell in a Cell.

However before that, Punk is set to serve as the special guest referee on next week’s NXT debut on The CW network (October 1) for the match between Trick Williams and ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page for the NXT Championship.
