NXT Champion Ethan Page has made a bold statement about former WWE Champion CM Punk ahead of his upcoming title defence.
Page will defend his NXT Championship against Trick Williams on the October 1 NXT episode, which will be the show’s premiere on the CW Network.
This match will have a special referee, with Raw star CM Punk set to serve as the official.
Ahead of the NXT CW premiere, Punk brought his dog Larry to Monday’s (September 23) Raw taping.
With Triple H sharing a video of himself and Bianca Belair meeting Larry, Ethan Page has now taken to Twitter to react to CM Punk being a dog-dad.
Noting that he hates Punk more than Trick Williams, Page wrote:
The referee for the biggest match of my career is one of those …
“I’m a parent too … I have a dog”
I officially hate Punk more than Trick.
Ethan Page won the NXT Championship at the July 7 Heatwave special, with Page winning a four-way match to become champion.
Page’s title win was unconventional, with the now-champion falling on Je’Von Evans after Trick Williams knocked them both out with Trick Shots, and getting the win after Shawn Spears prevented Williams from breaking the pin.
