WWE NXT Champion Ethan Page has reacted to CM Punk’s upcoming involvement in his next title match, sending a warning to the main roster star.
The former WWE Champion appeared on Tuesday’s (September 17) NXT episode to make a big announcement.
While many thought that Punk was going to announce something related to Giula and Roxanne Perez’ feud, he actually revealed that he will be the special guest referee for the NXT Championship match between champion Ethan Page and challenger Trick Williams on the October 1 NXT premiere on CW.
Ethan Page has now taken to Twitter to react to Punk’s announcement.
Referencing Punk’s “Best in the World” catchphrase, Page wrote:
This man better pray he’s the Best Ref in the World too
Ethan Page won the NXT Championship at the July 7 Heatwave special, with Page winning a four-way match to become champion.
Page’s title win was unconventional, with the now-champion falling on Je’Von Evans after Trick Williams knocked them both out with Trick Shots, and getting the win after Shawn Spears prevented Williams from breaking the pin.
Drew McIntyre has now reacted to CM Punk’s confrontation with another NXT star, which you can read more about right here.
