Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently revealed what he considered a ‘red flag’ in wrestling, with two AEW stars seemingly responding.
In a recent interview, Rhodes revealed that he considers legends saying ‘I’m just here for the young guys‘ to be a red flag in a ‘selfish, competitive business.’
He would also note that it is something that he doesn’t hear often and hasn’t heard it ‘anytime soon.’
One-half of The Outrunners, Turbo Floyd, took a light-hearted tone in a reply that could be aimed at Rhodes, tweeting:
“I’m just here to help the older guys”
The Outrunners have a history with AEW going back to September 2021 and recently appeared on AEW Rampage losing to Orange Cassidy in a two-on-one match.
Matt Sydal would take the opportunity to repost a clip reminding fans that he defeated Dante Martin on Dynamite three years ago to comment:
“I’m here to help the young guys. 👁👁👁”
Sydal started his wrestling training in October 2000 and would become Evan Bourne following his arrival in WWE in 2007.
He would remain with the company until 2014, returning to the independent circuit and Impact Wrestling thereafter.
In September 2020, Sydal made his AEW debut at that year’s All Out, signing a contract in November of that year.
