Rare Stipulation For Cody Rhodes Vs. Brock Lesnar At SummerSlam Revealed? WWE

Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar are set to cross paths for a third time in August 2023 at WWE SummerSlam with a rare stipulation in effect.

Having faced each other twice before in 2023, Rhodes holds a victory over Lesnar from the May 6 WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico while Lesnar would defeat Rhodes by referee decision at WWE Night of Champions on May 27.

The referee stoppage at Night of Champions has fuelled Cody Rhodes’ feud with Lesnar, with the American Nightmare pointing out that he didn’t quit.

Rhodes went into the match in Saudi Arabia with a “broken arm” as diagnosed by Triple H.

A third match could be a decider between the pair and it looks like it’ll take place in Detroit, Michigan at SummerSlam according to previous reporting.

Not only are the pair destined to clash for a third time, it could see a rare stipulation in effect, according to the recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

According to Dave Meltzer’s WWE sources, the match will be one of SummerSlam’s main events, going on to write:

There has been a lot of talk about adding a stipulation and one of the ideas is a bullrope match. That is not official and there are multiple other ideas for that match on the table, and no final decision has been made.

A bullrope match typically features a length of rope connecting both wrestlers and differs from other similar sounding matches by having a cowbell in the middle.

An example of the bullrope match in action can be seen in the highlights below this story.

As can be seen in the highlights, the winner is decided by hitting the four corners in succession for the win.
