Here’s Who Produced Cody Rhodes/Paul Heyman WWE Raw Segment

The identity of the producer behind the much-lauded promo between Cody Rhodes and Paul Heyman on WWE Raw has been revealed.

The emotional promo set the stage for the upcoming match between Rhodes and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

Heyman would invoke the name of Rhodes’ father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes, to make a point.

It was revealed, by Fightful Select (subscription required), that Michael Hayes produced the segment.

A report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer suggested that the popularity of Sami Zayn led to the WWE having to “go out and do something” to stop making “this WrestleMania main event angle feel secondary.”

Dustin Rhodes, currently signed to AEW, also commented on the promo, offering his advice in a hashtag on Twitter.

Freebird Michael Hayes has been a long-serving producer following his time in WWE.

He began his backstage role as a road agent in 1999 and later served as head creative writer for WWE SmackDown.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Fabulous Freebirds in 2016.

Hayes is also listed as producing the Brock Lesnar promo on the same February 6 episode of WWE Raw.
