A first look at the upcoming Street Fighter movie has shown fans what to expect from WWE’s Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
As previously reported, Rhodes and Reigns will star in the 2026 movie as Guile and Akuma respectively.
The December 11 Game Awards 2025 gave fans a sneak peek at the live-action Street Fighter movie in an action-heavy teaser video.
Not only does the video show Rhodes as Guile, complete with his iconic blond hair, but also a glimpse of Reigns as Akuma.
Posters were also revealed for the core cast, including both WWE stars, with Rhodes seen sporting a green vest, taking a comb to his high hair.
Reigns would share the poster of Akuma, which credits him as “Joe “Roman Reign” Anoai”, in a tweet that featured his familiar finger point.
Deadline has also released the synopsis for the movie, set for an October 16, 2026 release date, revealing:
Set in 1993 and helmed by director Kitao Sakurai, the movie version of the hit game sees estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Koji) and Ken Masters (Centineo) thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it will be game over.
Rhodes has previously revealed that he was “adamant” that he did his own stunt work in the Sakurai-directed movie.
