
An update has emerged on WWE plans for its commentary teams in Saudi Arabia, ahead of Friday Night SmackDown.
Ahead of the June 28 Night of Champions premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, WWE will first hold the June 27 SmackDown episode in the Kingdom Arena.
With WWE personnel now in Saudi Arabia, plans for SmackDown’s commentary team have seemingly been revealed.
Per PWInsider, Michael Cole and Wade Barrett have both been spotted in Saudi Arabia.
PWInsider hasn’t heard that Joe Tessitore is there, indicating that SmackDown will have a Cole/Barrett announce team.
Cole has already appeared on WWE TV in Saudi Arabia ahead of these shows, hosting the Night of Champions Kickoff event.
During this Kickoff event, CM Punk directly addressed his controversial Saudi Arabia tweet from 2020 and apologised to fans.
