WWE has officially confirmed the rules for an upcoming premium live event match as the event returns in 2024.
As previously confirmed, the Iron Survivor Challenge matches for both the men and women will be returning in December after the stipulation was introduced in 2022.
WWE has aired an updated hype video for the match recapping the rules, which were narrated as follows:
“Two Superstars will start the match. Then, every five minutes, another Superstar will join the match until all five are in the ring.
“The goal is to have the most falls when the clock hits 25 minutes. Falls can be won at any time via pinfall, submission or disqualification.
“When a Superstar wins a fall, they’ll earn a point.
“However, when a Superstar loses a fall, they must pay the penalty. They are forced out of the ring and into the penalty box for 90 seconds. Once the 90 seconds are up, the Superstar can re-enter the match.
“The Superstar who has scored the most falls when the clock hits 25 minutes will be named the Iron Survivor and will become the #1 Contender for the NXT Championship (and NXT Women’s Championship).”
The entrants are determined via a series of qualifying matches, three of which occurred on tonight’s WWE NXT episode.
Sol Ruca, Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans all advanced to their respective Iron Survivor Challenge matches tonight.
