New WWE Target’s Contract Status Confirmed

New WWE Target’s Contract Status Confirmed WWE

With WWE showing interest in signing El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr., and an update has emerged on his current contract status.

Following the debut of Penta on the January 13, 2025, episode of WWE Raw, reports emerged that there was also interest in signing El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr.

The luchador confirmed his free agent status earlier this month, shortly after he wrapped up in Pro-Wrestling NOAH.

The former GHC World Heavyweight Champion has now provided an update on his contract status, revealing that he has independent bookings for much of the first half of 2025.

Speaking on the Mas Lucha podcast, Wagner revealed that he has bookings until the end of May and is currently a free agent, saying:

“Right now we have the schedule full up until May so we will do all the currently scheduled dates.

“I am an independent wrestler so if a promotion is interested in my services, the year has 365 days and I am ready to take on all new challenges.”

Following his time in Japan, Wagner was also asked about taking further bookings outside of Mexico.

He would take this opportunity to seemingly address the rumors of being in talks with WWE, responding:

“Despite everything going around on social media, the adequate question to ask would be what I wanted.

“People will soon know what I want, but my main focus is what is best for me and make sure this mask continues to shine, whether in Mexico or outside of Mexico.

“Always focused on positive things that also favor Lucha Libre.”

Wagner has been a regular fixture in Pro-Wrestling NOAH since August 2019 and is a former GHC Heavyweight Champion, GHC National Champion and a two-time GHC Tag Team Champion.
