Report: WWE Creative Hasn’t Discussed Daniel Bryan For ‘Months’

More backstage information has emerged surrounding Daniel Bryan’s relationship with WWE, following rumors that Bryan has signed with AEW.

A huge story was recently broken, revealing that Daniel Bryan has came to terms on a deal with AEW. According to WrestleVotes, Bryan hasn’t been talked about backstage within WWE for a while.

WrestleVotes reported that it has been “months” since Bryan’s name has been mentioned by WWE creative, tweeting:

“Regarding the Daniel Bryan rumor since I’ve got a TON of questions on it: I don’t have many direct AEW contacts, however, I did ask my WWE contacts when’s the last time Bryan’s name has been brought up within creative or even talked about? “Months” was the answer. So that’s that.”

Bryan hasn’t wrestled for WWE since he faced Roman Reigns on the April 30 episode of SmackDown. His contract legitimately expired following the match.

Prior to reports that Bryan had joined AEW, it was noted that  Bryan was not apart of the list of talent plans for WWE merchandising over the next year. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast stated that he had also heard that there were no merchandise or WWE 2K plans for Bryan.

Zarian added that certain people within WWE think that the lack of these plans could indicate that Bryan is AEW-bound.

Previously expressing a desire to appear for other companies, Bryan reportedly decided to sign with AEW as his deal with the promotion would allow him to wrestle for NJPW.
