An update has emerged on what the WWE creative team knows about potential plans for main roster releases.
Following last week’s wave of NXT departures, reports indicated that more releases could be coming, possibly from WWE’s main roster.
Ringside News – which has had several backstage reports confirmed by the likes of Fightful and Dave Meltzer in recent times – now reports that a tenured member of the WWE creative team has indicated that the company has kept the creative team in the dark about potential plans for releases, noting:
“Releases are being kept very quiet and private until they happen.”
The report also confirmed that ‘important players’ on the NXT creative team knew about the NXT cuts a week before they happened.
Harland, one of the more notable names to get released from his NXT contract, was reportedly cut because he wasn’t progressing enough in the ring. Another update has emerged on future releases, revealing how often WWE is expected to release names from NXT moving forward.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
