The WWE that we all know is now officially no more, as WWE has officially been sold to Endeavor, forming a merged company with the UFC.
Vince McMahon is set to be the executive chairman of the new merger company, with Ari Emanuel acting as the CEO.
During their appearance on CNBC, McMahon noted that he would be involved in WWE creative ‘at a higher level’, but that he wouldn’t be ‘in the weeds’ like he was previously.
WWE also sent out a company wide email noting that Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque will remain as the company’s Chief Content Officer following the switch, with there also set to be a company-wide meeting at 4pm EST.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), those that they spoke to in the company were adamant that, even if McMahon would be involved in ‘top levels of creative’, nothing would change in regards to Triple H being the person in the Gorilla position leading the shows.
There is expected to be a talent meeting soon, with Triple H also reportedly set to kick off tonight’s Raw after WrestleMania show.
The creative team has been adamant that they have not directly interacted with Vince McMahon creatively, with higher ups in the company saying that he likes the process of how things are right now, though it was not mentioned to Fightful how exactly he is involved.
They reiterated that Triple H is set to oversee creative, and that Vince is around as a resource if needed.
