One planned match for WWE Crown Jewel 2024 ended up not taking place after the opponents began to brawl before the bell.
The deeply personal match between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens was scheduled for tonight’s WWE Crown Jewel 2024, however it would end up not actually happening.
As Owens attacked Orton while the crowd was still singing his entrance theme, the match would end up never actually starting.
Instead, a wild brawl ensued in which both Owens and Orton were seemingly out for blood as the pair fought without regard for the officials around them attempting to stop it.
Despite both WWE Raw and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis attempting to prevent the melee before the match, instead Pearce ate an RKO from Randy Orton.
Orton and Owens would continue to fight around the ringside area, finally with both going through tables to end the bedlam after a massive elbow drop from Owens, but without a conclusive winner as the actual match never began.
Elsewhere still set for tonight’s WWE Crown Jewel 2024, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes takes on World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER to determine the first ever winner of the men’s Crown Jewel Championship.
Already tonight, Liv Morgan beat Nia Jax after help from Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio at ringside, to become the inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
