Two top WWE stars are expected to miss the upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
WWE’s Saudi Arabia premium live events usually feature the company’s most popular stars. This year will be no different, with male and female champion vs champion bouts already announced for the show.
Two stars who’s statuses for the event have been uncertain are CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, who haven’t wrestled since facing each other in a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood.
Per PWInsider (via WrestlingNews.co), there’s no talk of CM Punk or Drew McIntyre wrestling or appearing at Crown Jewel 2024.
The report also noted that Punk’s role is the upcoming Night Patrol movie is NOT the reason for Punk missing TV, as he filmed this at the same time he was feuding with McIntyre.
A WWE source reportedly noted that they wouldn’t be shocked to see at least one of Punk and McIntyre return by “mid-late November”.
CM Punk last appeared on the October 7 Raw episode to note that he’s not sure when he’ll be returning to action.
Drew McIntyre meanwhile suffered a head wound in the Hell in a Cell match which required 16 staples, so would have to get cleared before making an in-ring return.
