The ‘Best Kept Secret’ in WWE is continuing to be a terrible secret, as he’s letting everyone know just how good he is.

Former NXT Tag Team Champion and current purple blooded star, Buddy Murphy, will receive a Cruiserweight Championship opportunity against Cedric Alexander on the May 29 episode of 205 Live.
The Australian debuted on the purple brand during the Cruiserweight Championship tournament in the build-up to WrestleMania 34, reaching the quarter-finals before losing to Mustafa Ali.

Murphy won a fatal four-way on the March 27 episode of the show, defeating former champions TJP, Akira Tozawa and Kalisto to earn a shot at the title.
However, Murphy failed the weigh-in for his scheduled title match at Greatest Royal Rumble, which is kind of a big deal when the weight limit is in the name of the brand you’re representing.
Kalisto got this title match instead, whilst Murphy was kept off TV until May 1 and defeated Mustafa Ali on this week’s episode to build some momentum. 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick announced Murphy’s title match on WWE.com following the show.
Buddy Murphy has come a long way since debuting on 205 Live. He felt a bit lost on NXT after he and his partner, Wesley Blake, lost their tag team titles, but he has now established himself as one of, if not the top heel on 205 Live.
It’s entirely possible that Murphy could leave Raleigh, North Carolina with the Cruiserweight title on May 29, as he is being positioned as a big star on 205 Live. However, it’s more likely that Cruiserweight Champion, Cedric Alexander, will defeat Buddy to build credibility as champion.
Whatever happens, fans of 205 Live can be assured that they will see a great match between two very talented performers. Just how many fans will be watching is another question entirely.
Do you think Buddy Murphy will become the new Cruiserweight Champion? Who else do you want to see challenge Cedric for the title? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter here.
