WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match Set For Next Week

Since defeating Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali in a Triple Threat a few weeks back, Hideo Itami has proved himself to be the next big threat to Cedric Alexander’s WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

The process of getting the match made was accelerated on last week’s 205 Live when Alexander stated that Itami deserved a title shot and insisted he needed to defeat the legend that is Itami in order to become a legend himself.

Last night’s show saw the match confirmed for next week as Alexander broke the news in a backstage promo where he again reiterated the point that a win over Itami will add the Japanese star’s legend to his own legacy.

Alexander has defended the title in impressive victories against the likes of Kalisto and Buddy Murphy since defeating Mustafa Ali for the gold at WrestleMania.

That being said, Itami may just be Alexander’s toughest challenge yet as the former NXT star has put in a number of great performances this year, particularly against Akira Tozawa and in the previously mentioned Triple Threat.

With the quality of matches both men have been putting on lately and improvement of 205 Live as a whole, don’t be surprised if the purple brand produces another classic next week.
