‘Triple H Doesn’t Owe Me Anything’: WWE Star Addresses Current Role WWE

A veteran WWE star has addressed their current position in the wrestling world, stating that Triple H doesn’t owe them anything.

Natalya made a huge impact at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII, defeating Miyu Yamashita in a match which many considered to be a highlight of WrestleMania 41 weekend.

With the WWE star set to challenge for the NWA World Women’s Championship on May 17, Natalya appears to be realising her potential away from her home promotion.

Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Natalya noted that she’s grateful she’s allowed to wrestle away from WWE.

Noting that she didn’t want to coast and wait for WWE writers to approach her, she said:

“I just feel so alive and I feel so free and it’s so cool that I’m being allowed to do these outside projects with WWE’s full blessing. As I’ve mentioned before and I’ve said this to a lot of other people, I am not comfortable just taking a paycheck and just coasting and just hoping that the writers at WWE think of something for me to do.

“I would have never survived in WWE 18 plus years, which is unprecedented for a female in WWE, no other woman in the industry, no one has ever done this at the level that I’ve done it for 18 uninterrupted years. I would never have survived what I survived in WWE had I not been creative and persistent and constantly trying to think of new ideas and ways to be involved and ways to be included.”

Believing that she’s not entitled to anything from Triple H, she said:

“The division is more competitive than it’s ever been. So, I understand, to be honest, Triple H doesn’t owe me anything. Triple H doesn’t owe me a storyline, he doesn’t owe me a phone call, he doesn’t owe me a text, he doesn’t owe me an email, he doesn’t owe me a single thing. Even going back to Kenzie, none of us are entitled to anything.

“Everything that we have, we need to fight for, we need to work for, we need to pitch, we need to — When I look at Bray Wyatt and think about the best stuff that Bray ever did, a lot of it was the stuff that Bray came up with from his own imagination.

“Sometimes it’s hard to say, ‘Hey WWE writers, hey Triple H, I have this idea.’ It’s easier sometimes to just show them. I think with Triple H being, I think it’s very well known to everybody, he is a creative genius. So, you see some of the greatest entrances of all time have been attributed to Triple H.

“Some of these incredible storylines and character development, a lot of them, including Bray’s, when Bray started to really evolve, Triple h was a big part of helping him realize his full potential. Do they owe me anything? No. That’s why for the first time ever, I’ve been allowed to step outside of WWE to really show the company, I want more, I’m going to work for me, and I’m going to work for more, and I’m going to fight for more.”

Wanting to earn her way back into the WWE women’s division, Natalya concluded:

“I’m not just talking about it, I’m actually doing it. I’m not just saying, ‘Oh, let me wrestle on Bloodsport because I really want a match.’ I’m saying, let me show you. I’m not going to tell you, let me show you. Let me give you the performance of a lifetime when I am 18 years deep in my career and I am sleeping in silk sheets driving a beautiful car, living in a beautiful home, and surrounded by Persian cats.

“I could be complacent, I could be lazy, I could be entitled, I could be spoiled, but I choose to train a ring with no air conditioning. I choose to train people on my days off. I train myself. I love the dungeon, it’s my greatest luxury to have that, to have my own ring. For me, my message has always been, let me show you, let me work for it.

“I love fighting for something, I do my best work fighting for my life. That’s why these shows, NWA, and that’s why Bloodsport was so important to me and I’m asking Triple H to do more outside shows because I’m not expecting Triple H to include me in the women’s division.

“He doesn’t owe that to me, the company doesn’t owe that to me. But I’m going to show him, I’m going to earn my way back into the women’s division. That’s what I’m doing, I’m putting my money where my mouth is.”

Natalya last wrestled for WWE during the April 11 SmackDown episode, teaming with Maxxine Dupri and getting eliminated from the tag-team gauntlet match by eventual winners Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
