WWE Star Danhausen Mentioned At PDC European Darts Trophy WWE/PDC

WWE star Danhausen continues to gain recognition worldwide as the latest reference to him came at the PDC European Darts Trophy today.

The 2026 Elten Safety Shoes European Darts Trophy is taking place today and this weekend at the Lokhalle in Goettingen, Germany.

With a round one game in progress between Dirk Van Duijvenbode and Mario Vandenbogaerde – which Van Duijvenbode won 6-2 – there was a Danhausen reference on commentary.

Darts’ Paul Nicholson Makes References To WWE

A group of four fans dressed in Kung Fu Panda outfits with facepaint were shown in the crowd, which prompted an interaction from commentators Dan Dawson and Paul Nicholson.

Dawson first jokingly said:

“Oh, they’re Kung Fu Pandas… right. I thought they might be problematic, but it’s pandas.”

2010 PDC Players Champion Nicholson then replied:

“I thought they were dressed as Danhausen!”

On Saturday – the second day of the tournament – Nicholson referenced Danhausen again as he reacted to ‘Evil Charlie’ Karel Sedlacek landing a 130 checkout against Mensur Suljovic by exclaiming, ‘Very Nice. Very Evil!”

At the end of the match, with Sedlacek lost, Nicholson referred to ‘Evil Charlie’ as “Very Nice, Very Evil” once again, then followed up by adapting Danhausen’s “you are cursed” catchphrase into “you are… out.”

Paul Nicholson has historically made references to WWE and pro-wrestling throughout his darts career, and even went through a phase of imitating CM Punk‘s entrance around 2011, and using Nexus’ entrance theme as his walk-on music.

He has also previously referred to Van Duijvenbode as being similar to Brock Lesnar with how he conducts himself and owns the stage during his matches.

He even appeared as a guest on the WrestleTalk TV show a number of years ago alongside then-TNA World Champion Bobby Roode.

What Next For Danhausen In WWE

Danhausen, who had been signed with AEW but absent from TV for over two years, made his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber on February 28.

While his debut wasn’t received well by the live crowd who booed after it, he has received more positive reactions since then during his appearances on Raw and SmackDown.

On SmackDown, he has been trying to convince The Miz to become his mentor, something Miz has been very much against.

Tonight, The Miz is set to host a Miz TV interview with Jelly Roll, so a Danhausen and Jelly Roll interaction may be imminent.
