It was recently reported that a number of WWE talents and staff have tested positive for COVID-19, ahead of the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view on January 1.
With a lot of uncertainty surrounding WWE’s upcoming live events, PWInsider reports that WWE expects for their upcoming US tour dates to still take place.
It was noted that WWE hopes that WWE Day 1 is far enough away that stars who have recently tested positive for COVID-19 will be cleared to compete come January 1. This report was published 10 days before the pay-per-view.
More WWE talents have reportedly tested positive for the virus, and WWE has contacted other stars about getting tested as a precaution.
It was previously reported that WWE is discussing a number of contingency plans with the possibility of new mandates getting introduced, so the company will be prepared for ‘all scenarios’.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
