For around two years, Nick Aldis has served as an authority figure in WWE, but is seemingly “far from done” as an in-ring competitor.
Aldis signed with WWE in August 2023, initially as a backstage producer, before being named as the SmackDown General Manager, with Adam Pearce as his Raw opposite number.
With Aldis having his last independent wrestling match in October 2023, he has yet to have his in-ring debut in WWE, although his real-life wife, Mickie James, hopes it may happen.
Speaking on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, the TNA Wrestling Hall of Famer revealed that Aldis was “far from done” when it comes to wrestling, saying:
“Oh, my God, yes. Oh, he’s far from done. I mean, I think if he was ever given, and I would pray for the perfect opportunity and story or whatever, but I think that if he’s ever given an opportunity to put on his boots and get out in that ring, I know it would be a dream come true for him.”
Ahead of WrestleMania 41, Aldis was on the receiving end of an RKO from Randy Orton, with some seemingly hoping this may lead to a match at the two-night WWE Premium Live Event.
It was subsequently reported that there had been “no real consideration” of this happening, but that Aldis was “open to competing down the road.”
A former TNA Wrestling star, Aldis held the World Heavyweight Championship and is a two-time World Tag Team Champion (with Doug Williams and Samoa Joe).
He is also a former two-time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion and held the IWGP Tag Team Championship with Doug Williams in NJPW.
