Two AEW Stars React To WWE Talent’s Release WWE/AEW

Two AEW stars have shared messages for Xia Li, following the announcement that she has been released from her WWE contract.

Li was among the stars released by WWE on Friday (April 19). The Raw star was notably the first female Chinese talent to sign with the company.

The released star posted a lengthy statement on Twitter following her release, thanking fans, talent and staff who made her feel welcome in WWE.

A number of stars have taken to Twitter to send words of encouragement to Li, including AEW’s Deonna Purrazzo, who wrote:

Not only is @XiaWWE a star, she’s an even better person.

I know this isn’t the end for you & I can’t wait to see what you do next. ❤️❤️

AEW star Taya Valkyrie has also reacted to Li’s release, commenting:

You’re a ⭐️ @XiaWWE!! You’ve got this, the world has been put on notice 🥰

Both Purrazzo and Valkyrie previously wrestled for WWE ahead of joining AEW.

Purrazzo and Li shared the ring numerous times in NXT, with Purrazzo notably defeating Li in the second round of the 2018 Mae Young Classic. They most recently shared the ring in an NXT Women’s Title #1 contender’s battle royal in January 2020.

Taya Valkyrie was with WWE for nine months in 2021. The duo were both on the NXT brand at the same time, ahead of Li’s main roster call-up in October 2021, and Valkyrie’s WWE release that November.

Several WWE stars have also shared emotional messages about Li’s exit, which you can read more about right here.
