Sanchez has over six years of pro-wrestling news writing experience, covering the biggest news stories in WWE, NXT, AEW, TNA Wrestling and more. He has personally interviewed a number of top stars, producing exclusive content with the likes of AEW's Swerve Strickland and WWE's Nick Aldis.

Another longtime WWE name has announced his departure from the company, following the recent round of talent cuts.

With over 20 in-ring names reported to be exiting WWE across April 24-25, and four more departures announced on May 2, producer and director Gavin O’Shea has now announced that he is no longer with the company, ending a 25 year tenure.

O’Shea shared the following on LinkedIn:

“After 25 years, losing my job wasn’t part of the plan.

For those memorable 25 years at WWE, I’ve seen, heard and experienced it all. After all, I grew up there, made friends and learned by doing. Like many people, I tied a piece of my identity to what I do every day. So when that suddenly changed, it felt unsettling, humbling… and honestly, a little scary.

But here’s what I’m learning in real time:

• Your job is something you do — not who you are

• Setbacks can create space for better opportunities

• Resilience isn’t a buzzword — it’s a skill you build through moments like this.

I’m taking this time to reflect, reset, and refocus on what I truly want in my next chapter. I’m incredibly grateful for the people I’ve worked with, the lessons I’ve learned, and the support I’ve already received.

If you know of opportunities or just want to connect, I’d love to hear from you.

Onward. Gavin.”

O’Shea had started with WWE in 2001 as a production manager, before going on to work as a director of television production, and Senior Associate Producer for international television.

Notable names revealed to be on their way out of WWE during last month’s cuts included Aleister Black, Kairi Sane and every member of the Wyatt Sicks faction.

On May 2, WWE moved Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, JC Mateo and Tonga Loa to the Alumni section of the roster page, with Fightful and Cory Hays for Bodyslam reporting that Kingston and Woods had “mutually decided to part ways with WWE.”
