WWE Departure Confirmed

WWE Departure Confirmed WWE

A WWE departure has now been confirmed following the release of a new backstage report.

Following this week’s headline-grabbing edition of SmackDown, a new report has revealed that a key change has been made behind-the-scenes on the brand.

According to Fightful Select, a change has been made regarding the lead writer position on SmackDown.

Ryan Callahan, who previously held the role has now been confirmed to have “parted ways” with WWE – with longtime WWE writer John Swikata being promoted to Callahan’s former position.

There’s no further word on Callahan’s departure other than he has left the company, however, we will provide any further details as/when they become available.

As for Swikata, Fightful noted that little is known of the new SmackDown lead writer, but those that they talked to within WWE noted that he is a well liked member of the company’s writing team.

SmackDown not only saw three Money in the Bank qualifying matches, but also appearances from CM Punk, Drew McIntyre and the long-awaited WWE debut of The Samoan Werewolf Jacob Fatu.

Fatu was revealed to the WWE audience for the first time at the very end of the broadcast, taking out Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes – the latter of which was put through an announce table.

Following the attack, Cody Rhodes has announced that he has sustained an injury – click here for full details.
