Baron Corbin has now responded to a comment claiming that WWE fumbled the bag by letting him go, following news of his WWE departure.
Corbin was one of three wrestlers effectively let go in the latest round of talent cuts, with WWE deciding not to renew his contract.
While Corbin has addressed his WWE exit on Twitter, the former US Champion took to Instagram to share a cooking video not related to wrestling, from before his WWE departure announcement.
A number of Instagram users left supportive comments for Corbin, including one which claimed that WWE fumbled the bag by not renewing his contract.
Corbin responded to this post, writing:
“I appreciate that and feel the same”
Corbin has wrestled across all three WWE brands since signing with the company in 2012. He was called back up to the main roster earlier following a stint in NXT, where he notably held the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Bron Breakker.
His last televised match saw him team with Apollo Crews in a losing effort against Angel and Berto on the August 30 SmackDown episode.
Fightful Select previously reported that the internal speculation is that Corbin’s contract runs until the end of the year.
