Karrion Kross has broken his silence on the expiration of his WWE contract after news emerged today that he had exited the company.
Kross, along with his on-screen accomplice and real-life wife Scarlett, were both moved to the ‘alumni’ section of the official WWE roster page today.
Given the ‘blurred lines’ nature of many comments Kross has made over the past few months, the legitimacy of his contract situation has been met with a degree of skepticism.
Kross has now posted a video on YouTube titled ‘My WWE Contract Ends Today’, where he candidly commented on his WWE run and departure.
During the video, he said:
“I’ve been f**ked. Things are not bad, things are just very strange. I feel like the following day after WrestleMania and the Sam Roberts podcast, I literally slipped into another timeline. Once it was done, everyone was like ‘holy s**t, that was amazing’, and he was saying to me ‘that’s the guy we need’, and I said before I left ‘please make sure everyone knows this was a work, let everyone know that I love it here, and I’m just doing my job’.”

On his growth in popularity, he said:
“I remember there were some people saying in the beginning it’s not gonna last, and let’s see if it’s still there in a different city. When it was still there and it got louder every week, it was ‘well we’re not really ready to sort of embrace that’.
“I was being told by certain people not to embrace it, and that felt wrong, because having a connection to the audience like this doesn’t come around for everybody, and it wasn’t something that was constructed. This happened organically because of what has happened over the last 3 years, we are getting to a tipping point.
“It can be said that it started because I punched through something, and everyone saw what was on the other side, but I don’t feel like we’re collectively going in the direction that the audience would want us to go in, so that part doesn’t feel good.”
“Things feel f**ked. It’s impossible to ignore it, and I don’t want people to feel like they’re being ignored, and a lot of them do, which is why it’s getting louder. And I knew this was going to happen.
“If we didn’t lean into what the audience is asking for, or what they want to see, they’re going to get louder. Pretending it’s not there or convincing yourself it’s going to go away – it’s not.”

He also said that in January, he expressed interest in re-signing with WWE:
“I think it’s crazy that anyone would think I wouldn’t want to be here, or to go somewhere else, and it’s nothing against anywhere else, but I’m here.”

He added that he had a more recent conversation with WWE about negotiations, but he didn’t feel like it was a “real conversation”, and it left him “profoundly disappointed”.
In a clip filmed before SummerSlam, he also expressed that he was starting to get angry because fans were attaching themselves to him and had no idea his contract was about to be up.
