Departing WWE Star’s Next Move Confirmed, Creative Details Revealed WWE

A departing WWE star’s next move has been confirmed, following them recently being teased for another promotion.

With Shotzi being one of 17 names featured in the latest round of WWE talent cuts, MLW appeared to tease Shotzi for an upcoming show.

During a vignette advertising the June 26 MLW Summer of the Beasts event, text noted that “June 26. Hearts Turn Black. The Warning Shotz Will Be Fired” while illustrations of tanks were shown.

Shotzi is indeed confirmed for this event per Fightful Select, with MLW sources telling Fightful that she’s expected to work a number of shows for the promotion in the future.

These sources have indicated that they’d like the former WWE name to have some “reasonable freedom and input” regarding potential opponents for her during these dates.

MLW sources reportedly noted that the promotion is looking to build to a big match between Shotzi and Shoko Nakajima. Nakajima is notably the MLW World Women’s Featherweight Champion, winning the gold at Battle Riot VII on April 5.

The report noted that Salina De La Renta has been working on an overhaul of the promotion’s women’s division, with it previously reported that joshi talent will be a big part of the division moving forward, with TJPW talent expected on almost every show.

Fightful hadn’t heard of Shotzi signing a contract with MLW at the time of writing.

Because her departure is due to her WWE contract expiration rather than Shotzi being released, she will have no non-compete clause and will be able to appear as a free agent right away.

Shotzi hasn’t wrestled since facing Zoey Stark on the February 19 edition of WWE Speed.
