Former Champion Loses First Match Following WWE Departure WWE

Former WWE star Tom Pestock, formerly Baron Corbin, has returned to the ring for the first time since leaving WWE.

News first emerged in November 2024 that WWE had opted to not renew Pestock’s deal, ending his twelve year stint with the company.

The ex-WWE name stepped back into the ring for the first time since this announcement at the January 19 The People Vs GCW show, facing off against Josh Barnett in a Bloodsport match.

Pestock ultimately came up short, forced to tap out in a legbar after 10 minutes of action.

This match added to Barnett’s impressive Bloodsport record, with the Bloodsport event host winning his last five matches under this no-ropes, KO and submission only stipulation.

Pestock has now commented on his GCW appearance, taking to Twitter to note that he will definitely be returning.

The former WWE US Champion wrote:

Yo the @GCWrestling_ crowd was so dope!! I will defn be back you wild f-ing animals!

Tom Pestock recently provided an update on his wrestling future post-return, which you can read more about right here.
