In news that will shock very few, WWE is reportedly desperate to push Seth Rollins as the biggest babyface on Raw, and is pulling out all the stops to make it happen.
Just in the past two days, we’ve had both Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin appear to give him the rub, and he’s beaten Brock Lesnar clean to win the Universal Championship, so if that doesn’t work, maybe it’s all in vain.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said:
“They’re just desperate to have Seth as the top babyface on this show.”
Another thing to note is that Michael Cole and the other commentators on Raw were very keen on pushing the fact that the only thing people were talking about coming out of SummerSlam was Seth beating Brock, and completely ignored Bray Wyatt’s Fiend debut, which is actually what people were talking about.
It does sort of appear to be working, as fans seem warmer towards Seth than they did before SummerSlam, but if they really want Seth to get over, than they should perhaps have him be a bit quieter on Twitter and less of a company shill.
