WWE Reportedly Had Discussions About Pairing Sable With WWE Hall Of Famer WWE

WWE reportedly had discussions about pairing Sable with a WWE Hall of Famer.

At the height of the WWE Attitude Era, two of the most popular figures in the company were Stone Cold Steve Austin and Sable.

On the latest episode of “Something to Wrestle” podcast, Bruce Prichard discussed 1998 for WWE and how revenue had never been higher for the company.

Touching on a considered pairing of Austin and Sable, Prichard said:

“Everything that we were touching during this period was turning to gold. Stone Cold Steve Austin was absolutely on fire. Everything was on fire.”

Despite everything clicking with Austin at the time, he did not want to be paired with the ultra popular Sable. Prichard stated:

“We were on the explosion end of things, and man, we still had way out there to go.”

Recalling that Sable at the time had been modeling with Austin 3:16 shirts, Prichard said:

“I wouldn’t say consideration, I would say discussion, yeah. Steve wasn’t really crazy about doing it, didn’t feel he needed it. And the concern was one of I think that it would’ve hurt Steve,”

Prichard also noted that Austin was badass enough on his own and didn’t need the pairing at the height of his popularity.
