Doubts Over Dominik Mysterio WWE Babyface Turn

A name very close to Dominik Mysterio has voiced doubts over whether WWE should fully turn Mysterio babyface.

Over the past few months, fans have been getting behind Dominik Mysterio to the point he’s the most popular star in the majority of his matches, even somtimes against babyfaces like Penta and AJ Styles.

However, there hasn’t been an outright babyface turn by Mysterio, it’s more that the crowd is supporting is heelish behavior, and he’s leaned into doing it against other heels at times, such as recently against Rusev.

Konnan, Mysterio’s godfather, has now commented on whether WWE should go all-in on a babyface turn, or keep things on the current trajectory of him being a heel that the fans happen to like.

On his Keepin’ It 100 show, Konnan said:

“They’ve hesitated to turn him.

“Maybe they wanna keep him as a heel that gets cheered, and see how that works for a while before they finally do turn him, if they do.

“I’m not privy to those conversations, but that’s the only thing I can think of.

“I almost think – I just thought of this right now – there might be some thinking to that, ‘If we turn him and give them what they want, the bloom is off. But if we keep him as a heel and they wanna turn him face and they keep cheering him, we’ve got the best of both worlds.'”
