WWE Star Dominik Mysterio Shares Honest Thoughts About Beating John Cena WWE

Dominik Mysterio has shared his honest thoughts about beating WWE legend John Cena at Survivor Series in San Diego last year.

In the penultimate match of Cena’s career, Dominik Mysterio defeated him to win back the Intercontinental Championship in Mysterio’s own hometown of San Diego, with WWE Survivor Series taking place at Petco Park.

Mysterio has now opened up about that match and what the entire situation meant to him.

Dominik Mysterio Breaks Character To Discuss John Cena Match

Speaking on The Collection, Mysterio said:

“Super, super surreal. Not only was it John Cena’s last PLE, last Survivor Series – it was the first wrestling event ever held at Petco Park in San Diego.

“Bro, I’m born and raised in San Diego. I’ve gone to Padre games my whole life. I lived there.

“I did a bunch of s**t I shouldn’t have done in downtown San Diego as well. Got some great stories I can’t tell.

“But man, that was just so surreal for me. Walking in, in the city where I’m from, walking out as a double champion, beating John Cena. That s**t’s insane man.

“You can’t write it. Stuff like that writes itself. It’s like a fairytale ending for me.”

Mysterio went on to reign as Intercontinental Champion from that win at WWE Survivor Series in November until last week, where he lost the title to Penta.
