WWE’s Dominik Mysterio Opens Up About Getting Into ‘Dick’ Character WWE

Dominik Mysterio has opened up about getting into his WWE character seeing himself as “just this dick”, something he may have kept hidden.

Although the young Dominik Mysterio had appeared on WWE TV in the well-remembered storylines between Rey Mysterio Jr and Eddie Guerrero and, in 2010, the CM Punk storyline, it wouldn’t be until 2019 that a grown up Mysterio would join the company and forge his way to being a sta in his own right.

Currently aligned with Judgment Day and enjoying a close friendship with his ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio has found himself getting into the face of much more established stars, including Cody Rhodes.

Mysterio recently appeared on Inside the Ropes, discussing his character and revealed how easy it was to do, saying:

“I think it’s kind of just secretly been hidden in me, that I’m kinda just this dick.

“It, like with all things, just kind of just came naturally to me. I don’t know what it was, but I think what really helped me was, I guess when I was training with Lance (Storm) and with Jay Lethal, I guess everyone thought I was just gonna be a babyface like my dad and just be a good guy all the time.”

He would go on to describe how he subverted expectations during training, adding:

“So when I would do practice matches, I would want to be a heel. I wanted to be the bad guy. So I trained most of the time, my practice matches, I was always the bad guy.

“So it was always fun to get into that character. Once I got the opportunity, I was like, I’m not gonna blow it. This is gonna be the one.

“Because I’ve always wanted to be the bad guy. Guys like Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho, guys like that that I just grew up watching. That’s how I wanted to do it.”

Dominik Mysterio will face Cody Rhodes at WWE Money in the Bank on July 1, 2023 in London, England.

Having “served time”, Ex Con Dom shared a message of support to fellow jailbird Tony D’Angelo over in WWE NXT.

Rhea Ripley recently shared a photo on social media of herself and Dominik, along with their two (Photoshopped) children for Papi’s Day.
