Former WWE Star Reveals Reaction To Doudrop Name Change

Former WWE Star Reveals Reaction To Doudrop Name Change WWE

Doudrop was the name given to WWE’s Piper Niven as part of her main roster call up, aligning her with Eva Marie.

Niven arrived in WWE as Piper Niven having been Viper on the independent wrestling scene for many years.

She has spoken positively in the past about her attitude to the name change, saying:

“In this business, opportunities aren’t necessarily plenty, so I just took that ball and ran with it. It’s all about what you make of it.”

Now a former WWE star who was very nearly called Paris has spoken on the subject of the name change and Doudrop’s reaction to it.

Speaking on the Comedy Store Wrestling podcast, Taya Valkyrie said:

“I thought the name was confusing.

“But I mean, look at a lot of the other names people have had over time — there’s all sorts of weird stuff going on.”

She would explain that Doudrop “was being positive about it” and that “you’re under all this pressure” so “you’re just going to take whatever it is and roll with it” before going on to say:

“That’s kind of what you have to do when you’re there.”

Whilst contemplating the possibility of her own name change, which caused her to fight to keep her Taya Valkyrie name before choosing Franky Monet, she did concede that:

“But at the end of the day, I get it. I’ve been on all these other TV shows with that name, the name is on merchandise and action figures, so it’s almost like they need [you] to start again.”

Doudrop hasn’t been a figure on WWE television since her last match in September 2022 and recently shared an update on social media, confirming that her absence was health and not visa related.
