Real Reason Drew McIntyre Legitimately ‘Angry’ Backstage After WWE Royal Rumble 2025 WWE

Another update has emerged on the backstage situation involving Drew McIntyre following yesterday’s WWE Royal Rumble event.

UPDATE: Who Drew McIntyre was legitimately angry about in the Royal Rumble revealed – click here for the latest.

After his stint in the Rumble match, which came to an end when he was eliminated by Damian Priest, McIntyre was reportedly ‘angry’ backstage.

PWInsider’s initial report indicated that McIntyre was frustrated with someone in the Rumble match who was trying to “get all their moves in” at the expense of some other stories that were being told throughout the match.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer later reported that this wasn’t something specific to McIntyre, as multiple individuals had pinpointed one person in the match they were frustrated with for “trying to get himself over”.

In another follow-up, the Daily Mail reports that Drew McIntyre was indeed “fuming” with the actions one individual who was supposedly “trying to take center stage” when McIntyre’s elimination was supposed to take place.

As with the other reports, Daily Mail didn’t name the specific individual that the other talent was frustrated with. We’ll keep you posted with any further updates as they emerge.

Another source of frustration for McIntyre currently – per the report – is that he is reportedly “of the opinion” that he should be in a bigger match than he’s planned for at WWE WrestleMania 41, which is a match against Damian Priest, hence why Priest eliminating him was supposed to be a big deal.

A clip of McIntyre’s elimination is attached below, in which you can see he and Priest bump into LA Knight and Logan Paul on their way across their ring.
