Real Reason Edge Vs. Finn Balor Was Pulled From Royal Rumble WWE

Finn Balor and Edge were rumored to take part in a Hell in a Cell at Royal Rumble, yet the match didn’t end up coming into fruition.

The pitch for the match would have seen ‘Demon’ Finn Balor facing Edge at the event that would take place on January 28.

In the current Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Dave Meltzer reports:

“The reason the at one time talked about Brood Edge vs. Demon Balor Hell in a Cell match at the Rumble didn’t happen is because Edge was filming a television show until this past week and thus couldn’t do the WWE television to build up the match.”

The real-life Adam Copeland was announced as the character Ares in the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a series based on the popular young adult novels featuring a young demigod and his various adventures.

Principal photography on the series finished on February 2 and was announced by Becky Riordan, wife of the author Rick Riordan.

She would later add that a series “wrap” doesn’t mean that the series is “done” and that there is still work to do before the show launches on Disney+.

The series is scheduled to premiere in 2024 with season one consisting of eight episodes.
