Well that lasted long. During a Q&A segment on last night’s Raw, Sami Zayn name dropped AEW, a name drop that has now been removed from the segment on WWE’s YouTube account.
There have been contrasting reports as to whether Sami was given the go ahead to mention the rival promotion, with Dave Meltzer saying on Wrestling Observer Radio that he was, but Bryan Alvarez saying he wasn’t.
As you can see in the below clip, the AEW reference is gone.
It’s almost as if they regretted it, or as if he wasn’t allowed to mention it in the first place.
You’ll also notice that all the questions were likely scripted, given that no-one said anything stupid, and that has never happened when audience members participate in anything.
