UPDATE – The shade didn’t end there as Michael Cole took another shot at Tony Khan during the main Elimination Chamber show, which you can read about during this link.
Already on tonight’s WWE Elimination Chamber, a little shade thrown towards AEW CEO Tony Khan after an outburst last night on Twitter.
On WWE’s premium live event Elimination Chamber tonight, a reference to last night’s fracas between AEW CEO Tony Khan and journalist Ariel Helwani.
Shots were fired last night on Twitter after Montreal native journalist and lifelong wrestling fan, Ariel Helwani appeared on WWE SmackDown and Tony Khan took notice.
Taking to Twitter to call Helwani “a fraud,” the response was particularly icy with Khan again criticizing Helwani for bias.
Months ago, Khan appeared on Helwani’s show for an interview, but avoided answering many of Helwani’s questions, which Helwani then spoke about the following day and said it was one of the most frustrating interviews he’s ever done.
Helwani is also said to be good friends with WWE CEO Nick Khan, and has been for many years, which some believe plays into the apparent tension.

At tonight’s WWE’s premium live event, Elimination Chamber, Ariel Helwani got a very interesting introduction.
When introducing Ariel Helwani, Peter Rosenberg was sure to note he was “a man who is respected by anyone with any intelligence.”
