RAW WOMEN’S TITLE
ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Mandy Rose vs. Bayley vs. Mickie James vs. Sonya Deville
The first ever Women’s Elimination Chamber opened the show, with Alexa Bliss successfully retaining her Raw Women’s Title over Absolution duo Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, supposed new ally Mickie James, and best pals Sasha Banks and Bayley.
The bout was only okay, with some clunky sequences early on disrupting the flow of the action. That being said, the most baffling was a spot towards the end when Bliss hit a risky Twisted Bliss onto Banks from on top of one of the pods, which Banks took the full brunt of them completely ignored so she could roll through into a Bank Statement.
Other than Bliss retaining and setting up a WrestleMania title defense, the biggest story coming out of the match was Sasha once again turning on Bayley. Poor Bayley never learns – Sasha also eliminated her from the Royal Rumble – and was suckered in again as Sasha kicked her down as she attempted to scale a pod. Bayley vs. Sasha at WrestleMania is a distinct possibility if there is room on the card.
Summary: Not bad, decent in places, but certainly nothing special
Verdict: ***
