WWE NXT’s Elio LeFleur Undergoes Successful Surgery WWE

Elio LeFleur has undergone successful surgery after a recent WWE NXT live event saw him unable to compete on television.

As previously reported, Elio LeFleur was sidelined following an injury he picked up at an untelevised WWE NXT live event in Lakeland, Florida.

The injury would see LeFleur removed from the NXT Tag Team Championship contender’s tournament, where he was set to team with Eli Knight.

The WWE Speed Champion at the time of injury, LeFleur would confirm that he was vacating the title, citing a torn labrum and ligaments and six months on the sidelines in a backstage segment on the March 31 episode of NXT.

LeFleur has now confirmed that he has undergone surgery, promising a return to in-ring action following his rehabilitation, tweeting:

“Surgery was a success.

“See you soon. 💪”

The post would be accompanied by a photo of LeFleur in his hospital bed, a flower emoji covering his usually lucha-masked face, delivering a thumbs up to the camera.

With a rehabilitation journey ahead, six months on the sidelines will take LeFleur up to October of this year.

WWE Speed: From X To NXT

WWE Speed was introduced as an exclusive short-form show on the social media platform X back in April 2024, with the show running until August of last year.

Initially featuring stars from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, matches would typically have a three-minute time limit, with matches for the men’s and women’s WWE Speed Championship seeing a lengthier five-minute time limit.

Now vacated, the men’s WWE Speed Championship saw its shortest reign in the hands of Elio LeFleur, ending at just 34 days, while the women’s title is held by Wren Sinclair.

Following the cancellation of the show on X, matches were brought under the banner of NXT, with stars from AAA and TNA Wrestling going on to compete for the championship.

Thus far, Ricochet, Andrade, Dragon Lee, both versions of El Grande Americano (with Chad Gable having suffered an injury of his own and being replaced by Ludwig Kaiser), and Jasper Troy have all held the WWE Speed Championship, with LeFleur’s reign being the shortest at just thirty-four days.

With a new champion being decided through a tournament, last night’s episode of WWE NXT saw Lexis King score a victory over Chazz Hall (the former Starboy Charlie).

We wish Elio LeFleur a safe and healthy recovery.
