A WWE star has made a confession about their current gimmick, one which they themselves described as embarrassing.
Sol Ruca is making waves in WWE, currently holding both the WWE Speed Championship and the NXT North American Championship.
The former gymnast plays the part of a surfer girl on WWE TV, although she has now revealed a key difference between her character and her in real life.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Sol Ruca revealed that she isn’t actually that good at surfing.
Calling this revelation “embarrassing”, the WWE NXT star said:
“I have a confession, this is really embarrassing, I’m not a great surfer. I can surf, but I’m not good at it.
“I had no time growing up to surf. I started surfing probably when I was 12, which is pretty late to start a sport, especially like surfing or snowboarding or gymnastics.
“I go as much as I can. I can stand up, I can do a little cut or whatever. The biggest wave I ever surfed was six feet.”
Sol Ruca has been wrestling for WWE NXT since September 2022, three months after her pro-wrestling debut that June.
She had no prior wrestling experience when signing with WWE in March 2022, but picked up wrestling quickly due to her gymnastics background.
Sol Ruca previously revealed the origins of her crazy finisher, which you can read more about right here.
