England International Footballer Says He’d Love To Be A WWE Wrestler FA/WWE

An England international and Premier League footballer has expressed interest in potentially becoming a WWE wrestler.

The WWE roster currently features stars from various different athletic backgrounds, with the likes of former Olympic wrestler Chad Gable, ex-gymnast Tiffany Stratton and former crossfit and powerlifting competitor Bianca Belair all calling WWE their home, after success in other sports.

A footballer has become the latest athlete to express interest in a potential WWE run, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi noting that he’d love to be a wrestler.

During an interview with BBC Sport, Guehi was asked to name one thing about himself which would surprise anyone watching.

Discussing his passion for pro-wrestling, Guehi responded:

“I’d love to be a WWE wrestler. Growing up, watching WWE. It’s on Netflix. I’ve seen some pay-per-views. I would love to be a WWE wrestler.

“It can be dangerous but the performance side of it… I’m a good waffler on the mic… making people believe you’re the bad guy or the good guy.”

Marc Guehi has been competing for Premier League side Crystal Palace since 2025. He captained the team to winning the FA Cup earlier this year, with Crystal Palace beating Manchester City 1-0 in the final on May 17.

Guehi also plays for the England national team, which he made his debut for in 2022.
