AEW/TNA Wrestling
A former WWE name has outlined the way that TNA Wrestling could be set to overtake AEW as the number two wrestling company.
TNA Wrestling is currently in a multi-year partnership with WWE which has seen a talent exchange between IMPACT and NXT.
With TNA Wrestling having announced a broadcast partnership in Canada earlier this year, Eric Bischoff has now stated that the right broadcast partner could elevate the company further.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Bischoff suggested that the right partner could see TNA Wrestling leapfrog AEW to become the number two wrestling company, saying:
“They are one deal away from being a major player.
“If they get a broadcast partner, if they get the right broadcast situation—because they’ve got the product. They know what they’re doing. It’s a good team of people.
“They just need a bigger platform, and if they get it, watch them take off.
“In terms of television ratings and popularity, they could be number two in a minute.”
TNA Wrestling currently airs on the cable network AXS TV, with a Wrestlenomics tracker reporting an audience of around 32,000,000 pay TV households in November 2023.
By contrast, AEW Dynamite airs on TBS and HBO Max, with the Warner Bros. Discovery owned basic cable television network being received by over 71,000,000 households in June 2023, according to a Substack report.
