With WWE Evolution taking place on July 13, a report has emerged suggesting a return for two released stars.
The upcoming all-women WWE Premium Live Event takes place in Atlanta, with the card coming together, including IYO SKY defending the Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on WrestleBinge, WWE could be planning to bring back a former pair of Women’s Tag Team Champions for the upcoming event.
Sources reportedly stated that there has been backstage talk about potentially bringing back the team formerly known as The IIconics for the July 13 event.
The former Peyton Royce & Billie Kay were released from their WWE contracts in April 2021 and have gone on to feature in TNA Wrestling as The IInspiration.
Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, the pair have also gone on to hold the Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Championship under the names Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay.
While WrestleVotes has reported backstage discussions, there has yet to be any formal confirmation as to whether WWE fans can expect to see The IIconics once again.
The IIconics had their WWE NXT television debut in October 2016 and would be called up to the main roster in April 2018, adopting their familiar tag team name.
The pair parted ways with TNA Wrestling (then known as Impact Wrestling) in April 2022, stating they were “indefinitely stepping away from in-ring action“.
Their return would take place at TNA Against All Odds in June 2025, with McKay recently saying a WWE return would be a “full circle moment“.
